Metropolitan Traffic Police Department has started a public awareness campaign from Old bus park, Kathmandu in cooperation with the Federation of Nepali National Transport Entrepreneurs to help prevent the second wave of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Speaking at the program, Senior Superintendent of Police, Janak Bhattarai, said that the motive behind this campaign is to aware the general public regarding the second wave as the transport sector is at high risk from Covid-19. During the program, labour union officials and high-ranking traffic police personnel pasted informative stickers in vehicle doors as well as distributed surgical masks to pedestrians, drivers, and passengers.
The Metropolitan Traffic Police Department has requested that all drivers and passengers should wear masks and maintain physical distance in vehicles. The department is also conducting various programs to raise awareness in the main bus park and crowded areas of the valley in view of the risk of the coronavirus and reduce the crowd in vehicles.
